Hello World!

blog — Natasha Goncharova on August 5, 2006 at 9:33 pm

This is my first post to my personal blog where I will be writing about my thoughts and experiences with the world. I think a lot about things and people — what moves them, what does not. I have seen and experienced quite a bit in life. Even if only one person learns something or laughs when reading my posts, it is worth writing this blog.

Things that I have experienced:

  • been on the top, been on the bottom, collected myself a number of times and kept going
  • met a few people who mean the world to me — they never left me and always believe in me
  • was born in a Moslem country with no human rights, let alone women rights
  • was unconditionally loved by my parents — love and belief were the assets they gave me
  • have moved from a Moslem country to a European country, then to the US with no financial means, rather with help of those who I met on my way
  • by the age of 27, have gotten three higher educations inclusive of two MBA degrees with no debt
  • have lived in environments of three major Western religions, learned different perspectives
  • learned a foreign language to the extent it became the language I think and dream at
  • worked for large foreign companies and corporations
  • with a tech guru co-found a growing tech business
  • bought, own, and manage my own house while being a single woman
  • painted and varnished rooms at my place with no hired help, only with the help of my dad and mom at a time
  • painted my living room with 10 coats of white to make it look as I wanted it
  • ran a race; no, I was not the first one
  • with the help of a wise dance partner learned dancing Salsa after feeling embarrassed on the dance floor for many years; people now ask if I am a professional dancer — sure
  • played basketball for 8 years in school and traveled all over to compete
  • had bulimia for 8 years after high school and overcame it — both the bulimia and the overcoming it are experiences in themselves
  • had a major relationship in my life falling a part
  • cared for my dear mom who became disabled within a few days and saw her passing away at a very early age
  • learned to appreciate “After all, computers crash, people die, relationships fall apart. The best we can do is breath and reboot.” (Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw)
  • Remained sain d through all of that
  • Love life with all its ups and down, love it for what we can make out of it
